More Tables

I've had some requests to see more of the tables from our Ladies Brunch on Saturday. Scroll down to the next post to see my table.

My friend Jennifer's wedding-themed table. It was beautiful. We joked that she should have worn her wedding dress and had everyone at her table wear an old bridesmaid dress!

Susan's table. Everyone at the table took home a packet of seeds
Carrie's vintage-y garden table.

Laura's orange theme table. She was dressed in a really cute green/orange/black outfit to match her table.

Pam's adorable garden table with Bible verses printed on cardstock and stuck down in all the pots.

Marilyn's awesome green/black/white table. Everyone at her table took home an individual pot of basil.

Gini's beautiful garden table. I didn't get a shot of the arrangement in the middle, but it was a huge arrangement of silk hydrangeas.

My Week

Monday: Attended my sister-in-law's (Gini) new home inspection! Walked to the house from my house- yay! They are moving a few streets over from us. Greta went to the groomer's where she got razor burned under her neck, resulting in a week full of horrible-ness. She didn't eat for 4 days. (And she used the bathroom in the house. on the carpet. it still smells.)

Tuesday: Woke in the middle of the night to Ryan vomiting. Changed all bedding. Ryan vomited again. Changed all bedding again.

Wednesday: Took care of a sick Ryan. Made cookies.

Thursday: Shopped for supplies for my Ladies Brunch table. All day with Ryan in tow. Continued making cookies. Dropped mixer on my foot resulting in broken toe.

Friday: Dropped both boys off at school. Dropped Earth Day cookies off at Will's classroom. Worked at church decorating for Ladies Brunch. Picked both boys up at school. Will's baseball game. Met up with girls from my DLU sorority for dinner.

My table at the Ladies Brunch

The theme of the Brunch this year was "Seeds of Kindness." I guess my theme was more along the lines of "Sweetness."

Earth Day cookies for Will's class

The blue swirled background is supposed to look like the ocean.

*I am hoping for a calmer week this week. With less vomit, broken toes, sick schnauzers, and cookies.

Earth Day Cookies

Earth Day is April 22nd. Check out these Earth Day cookies. Aren't they just wonderful? (I found them on the internet.) JW is going to be the Mystery Reader for Will's class on Friday and he is going to do clean water experiments. Oh how I wish I had time to make some of these cookies for Friday.

My New Favorite Website

Bakerella is my new favorite website! Take a minute and check out all this adorable stuff. The picture below is from her website under "cake pops." I had never heard of cake pops until my friend Melissa introduced me to this website. Now I really want a cake pop! Lots of great inspiration to be found here and it makes me want to get baking. If only I had some uniterrupted time.....

A Sampler

Will is on Spring Break, so today I spent a delightful day with both my boys. We went shopping at Opry Mills. We ate lunch and then Will and Ryan had dentist appointments.

Will is 6 1/2. Will is very smart. Will asks A LOT of questions. Most of the time I find this wonderful and I take great delight in having fairly deep conversations with my son. Sometimes, after say 4 straight hours, my brain gets tired. Driving home today, my brain actually hurt from the flood of questions coming from the backseat.

Now I give you a sampling of the questions I have heard today:

1. Why is an interstate called an "interstate?"

2. Why wasn't Eve supposed to eat that fruit off of that tree?

3. Why do we have to have a President?

4. Who invented the States?

5. Did Adam name the animals before or after Eve got there?

6. Why do we have to pay money to live in our house?

7. Do you think this chicken would be good covered in cinnamon?

Easter

This is the best pic of all 4 cousins I could get. Pretty cute of all of them, except I'm not sure what Ryan is doing.

The boys LOVE their cousin Catherine. She is a sweetheart to put up with all of them hanging all over her.

We had a little Egg Hunt after lunch at Aunt Gini's house.

Doesn't he look like a little angel in this picture? I was surprised he let me dress him in the Strasburg outfit. He usually throws a fit about "baby" outfits. I just love the expression on his face and those sweet red cheeks :)

Easter Egg cookies!

Ryan turns 4!!

Ryan requested a "football" party for his birthday. I tried to talk him into a different theme, but nope, he just kept coming back to football. So, he picked out his outfit and here you have it. A long-sleeve, orange Tennessee Vols shirt. He is the funniest kid ever. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he was born in Knoxville and you could see Neyland stadium from our hospital. But, whatever it is, he still loves football. JW and I see many drives to Knoxville in our future. Pictures from Saturday didn't turn out great, but here are a few.

Ryan blowing out candles

Enjoying cake with cousin Dawson. The other 2 boys ate chocolate ice cream and then ran off to play. These 2 sat there for a long time and ate every last bite of cake.

Nonnie and BB brought a football pinata!

And finally- we got to the candy!!

The "4" cookies I made for the party
It is very hard for me to believe my baby is 4. JW and I watched the video of his birth the other night. It seems like ages ago that I was pregnant and we lived in Knoxville. It was such a sweet time in our lives when we welcomed that precious little baby into our family. But, when I look at Ryan and see how big he is, I don't know where the time has gone. It is bittersweet.
