And So We Have Summer and Brothers

All for one and one for all
My brother and my friend
What fun we have
The time we share
Brothers 'til the end.
~Author Unknown

We officially kicked off Summer last week with a trip to the beach. We left immediately after Will's Kindergarten Graduation and spent a fun week in Hilton Head with our family. 4 boys: ages 5, 4, 3, and 2. Needless to say, we were busy. They all had a blast playing together and got along remarkably well.

I love the above quote. It reminded me of my boys and their relationship. I don't think I heard them say a cross word to each other the entire week. They were even perfect in the car for 8 hours. Their love for each other continues to grow and they do not want to be apart. Will can hardly stand for Ryan to take a nap, and continually asks me "when is Ryan going to wake up?" Sometimes the first thing out of Ryan's mouth in the morning is "where is Will?" They shared a room at our condo at the beach and they loved sleeping side by side in the little twin beds. They are extremely protective of each other and Will can't stand for Ryan to cry, this is why he gives in to Ryan on everything (even when he shouldn't!) It is a joy for me to watch this brotherly relationship grow. I can't think of anything more precious. Their age difference is perfect and I am continually grateful to our good Lord for giving Ryan to us at exactly the right time.

I have many more pictures from the beach, but this is all I'm taking the time to upload right now!
Stay tuned for an update on the Sky Fort!

Last Day

Today was the last day of school. Will has his graduation in the morning, but the little kids had their Popsicle Party today on the playground.
David, Cal, and Ryan (David is our cousin, but Ryan thinks Cal is our cousin too because Cal is David's best friend)
Friends from class

One of the gift baskets I made for our teachers. The baskets were lined with bright colored dish towels and filled with potted flowers, candles, orange poppy seed bread, a picture of Ryan and assorted fresh fruit.

Busy May and Will's End of Year Party

I have so pictures on my camera that last night my camera gave me the "full memory card" warning and I was having to delete pictures in order to take more pictures at Will's baseball game. Who knew the card ever filled up?? 455 pictures were on my camera. Time to delete and organize. I love digital, but it allows a hoarder like me way too much picture hoarding.

I have lots to blog about, but not lots of time. Will went to the rodeo with John Friday night, we had my precious nephew's 2nd birthday party and all saw Bob the Builder Live together on Saturday, and on Monday we had Will's class end of year party and a baseball game. Whew!
This week is going to be just as crazy and busy. Ryan's end of year Popsicle Party, Will's Graduation, and then we all leave for Hilton Head! Somehow in the midst of all that I have to put together teacher gifts, do laundry, and pack for all of us! Life is busy, but fun. We are excited about the Summer and all the fun things we have planned. We are blessed and God is so good.

Hugs for Ms. Jennifer

My Sweet Mother

My week has been crazy busy. I have been meaning to post these pictures from Sunday all week! It is now late Friday afternoon and here I am, just getting to it.

I am so blessed to have the sweetest woman in the world for my Mother. And my boys get to have her as their Nonnie!
These two sweet smiles always make my day!

Sky Fort- Day 2

Day 2- Making progress

We got the boys a playset a few weeks ago. Since then it has rained just about everyday. For 3 solid weeks. So, all four boxes full of the Sky Fort have sat in our garage. Today is the first day it has been nice weather that JW could get started. My once lofty goals for this thing being put together have slowly diminished. I have never seen so many parts in all my life!! I am glad JW has an engineering degree. Now I am just hoping it is put together in time for Will's birthday party in July. I'll keep you posted.

This is what our "Sky Fort" playset currently looks like

This is what it is eventually supposed to look like

At least the boys are enjoying playing with the boxes!

Ladies Brunch

I am on the Women's Ministry Committee at church for 2009. It has been fun so far and I have met so many women I would not have met otherwise at a church as large as OC. I am not good at being in charge of big events, but I am great at helping. Thank goodness we have lots of girls who love being in charge! It takes all personalities to work well together and I think our committee makes a good team.

The Ladies Brunch was Saturday morning and it was our first big event of the year. We had over 100 ladies in attendance. People were asked to be table hostesses, which just meant you were in charge of decorating a table. I thought it was fun to see all the different tables, so I took some pictures. There were over 15 tables, but here are a few.

"Breakfast at Tiffany's"

This is the table I co-hosted with my friend Jennifer. Our theme was black and white. Jennifer is a real over-achiever and a talented decorator. So, I can't take much credit.

"Cinco de Mayo"

My sis-in-law, Gini, is another over-achieving friend and she did 2 tables. This one was blue and yellow and had lots of lemon-themed decorations. It was very pretty. The other table she did was a beach-theme. I don't think I got a picture of it.

I think I had better go ahead and start planning my table for next year!
